Etnies evolved from Pierre André Sénizergues' former shoe company Etnics and was renamed in 1989 after its launch in the US. Etnies was the first brand launched by Sole Technologies, which today also houses Emerica, ES us Thirty Two.
From the beginning, Pierre André's mission was to produce the best and most durable skate shoes. He is still very committed to the innovation in this matter, which can be seen in the numerous features Etnies skate shoes are equipped with. Technologies like the STI Evolution Foam provide extra cushioning and comfort. Also worth mentioning is the collaboration with the tire manufacturer Michelin to make the soles of the Joslin and Marana Pro models even more resistant.
The Etnies team includes scene greats like Ryan Sheckler, Chris Joslin, Barney Page or Trent McClung. The Pro Models of Chris Joslin and the Marana of Ryan Sheckler are especially popular.
