Which trucks fit on my skateboard deck?

Unlike most other skateboard components, skateboard trucks are not specified in the same way and the different truck brands each use their own specifications, which occasionally poses a challenge for even the most experienced skate shop employee.

Why do the trucks have different names? This question is answered very simply. Some manufacturers give sizes in millimeters, others in inches. To do this, some measure the width of the axle pin, while others measure the width of the hanger. At other companies such as ACE Trucks, for example, the trucks are simply numbered consecutively and give no indication of the actual size.

In our online shop you can easily assign the trucks to your deck using our "Recommended for deck width" filter.

As a rule, one tries to choose an axis that is as close as possible to the side edges of the deck. In other words: The width of your axle should be as wide as your deck. Since most manufacturers offer trucks in 0.25 inch increments, there is a variance of 0.125 inches where you have to decide whether your trucks are a little narrower or wider than the deck. As a rule, one opts for the slightly narrower axis.

Here you will find all common skateboard truck brands with the corresponding, optimal deck width:
