Palace Skateboards was founded in London in 2009 by Levent "Lev" Tanju and Gareth Skewis, together with their skate crew the "Palace Wayward Boys Choir". Lev's filming style with old VHS cameras, coupled with the team's skating on the rough London spots, quickly attracted international attention and enabled Palace to quickly become one of the most sought-after skateboard and streetwear brands. In recent years, Palace has had collaborations with brands such as Adidas, Polo Ralph Lauren, Reebok, Moschino, Umbro and other well-known brands in the sports and fashion world. Stars like Rihanna, ASAP Rocky, Travis Scott and Drake are also regularly spotted in Palace streetwear pieces.
Palace's Tri-Ferg logo was inspired by Swedish artist Oscar Reutersvärd's "Penrose Triangle". The triangular shape gives the feeling of infinity and looks like it is in motion. This dynamic look inspired the Palace boys to create this "impossible triangle" as their logo.
The Palace skate team currently consists of Lucien Clarke, Rory Milanes, Benny Fairfax, Lucas Puig, Chewy Cannon, Danny Brady, Olly Todd, Heitor da Silva, Jamal Smith, Charlie Birch, Kyle Wilson, Jahmir Brown, Shawn Powers and most recently Ville Wester.
Palace decks are manufactured using the single press process. Here, unlike most other producers, each deck is pressed individually. This guarantees a consistent concave and nose and tail kick on every deck. The decks are glued with a special epoxy glue to make the decks robust and provide them with the necessary pop. Palace decks have a medium concave and nose and tail kick.
