Thrasher Skateboard Magazine was founded in San Francisco in 1981 by Fausto Vitello and Eric Swenson and is now the oldest running skateboard magazine in the world. Dubbed the "Skateboard Bible" by fans, Thrasher has released over 500 issues.
To this day, Thrasher has remained true to its motto "Skate And Destroy".
Besides Skateboarding, Thrasher has always had a strong musical connection, featuring interviews with both well-known and underground artists from the hip-hop, punk, hardcore and metal genres. Thrasher also hosts the infamous Skate Rock Tours every year.
Thrasher has been awarding "Skater Of The Year" every year since 1990, a club that has since allowed only the best of the best to join, including Tony Hawk, Danny Way, Chris Cole, Andrew Reynolds, Ishod Wair, Tyshawn Jones and Jamie Foy.
With the "King Of The Road" series, Thrasher pushed numerous skate teams to the limits of what was possible.
