The Safari is a Powell Peralta skateboard deck with the new Flight Construction.
8.25 inches wide, 31.95 inches long, 14.25 inches wheelbase, 6.88 inches nose, 6.63 inches tail.
The Powell Shape 243 is a standard popsicle shape.
The K20 Concave is a medium concave with a medium nose and tail kick.
Powell's Flight Construction promises a lighter, stiffer deck that lasts longer and doesn't lose pop as quickly.
With only 5 instead of the usual 7 layers of maple wood which are connected with epoxy glue, Flight Decks are significantly thinner and lighter than conventional boards.
A thin carbon fiber layer is attached to the top and bottom, which provides additional stability. In tests conducted by Powell, Flight Decks are more than 2x more shatterproof than traditional 7-ply decks.
