Creature Skateboards
Creature Skateboards was founded in 1994 by Russ Pope within NHS Distribution. Due to financial problems, Pope had to throw in the towel in the late 90's and put Creature on hold for the time being. Longtime and loyal team riders Lee Charron and Darren Navarrette revived Creature Skatboards in 2005. The graphics, the logo, the team - everything about Creature Skateboards is cohesive. The most striking is probably the classic Creature logo, mostly kept in bright colors.
The graphics of Creature are usually very dark, but still have a comic-like impact. Horror graphics are very popular with Creature Skateboards, but many pro models also have a personal connection to the team riders. The shapes with a lot of concave and somewhat steeper nose and tail are also characteristic of the brand. The VX construction is another innovation, which makes the Horror decks a bit lighter and gives them "eternal" pop.
The Creature Skateboards team is made up of diverse characters and has a roster of pool, vert, as well as street skaters. With Darren Navarette, Chris Russell, David Gravette, Kevin Baekkel, Milton Martinez and recent addition Collin Provost, the Creature team is one of the best around.
