Flip Skateboards was founded in England in 1991 by Ian Deacon and Jeremy Fox and was the successor company to Deathbox Skateboards. At that time the team consisted of the exceptional talents Tom Penny, Rune Glifberg, Andy Scott and Geoff Rowley. In 1994 the company moved to the USA in order to gain a foothold worldwide from there. The team continued to grow, adding Arto Saari, Mark Appleyard, Ali Boulala, PJ Ladd and Bastien Salabanzi. After the release of the then long-awaited "Sorry" video in 2002 and the follow-up "Really Sorry" in 2003, Flip was one of the most successful skateboard companies in the world. In the 2010's some riders decided to leave the team and Flip brought on board a team of young talents Louie Lopez, Curren Caples, Ben Nordberg and Alec Majerus.
The current Flip team consists of Luan Oliveira, David Gonzalez, Lucas Rabelo, Alec Majerus, Denny Pham, Tom Penny, Lance Mountain, Rune Glifberg, Arto Saari, Bob Burnquist and Art Cordova.
