Shake Junt is a skateboard accessories and streetwear company founded in 2008 by Shane Heyl. Shake Junt started out as a crew project with the Shake Junt video before it even became a company. Shane wanted to help his homies, who didn't have sponsors until then, to become better known with the video. The famous Shake Junt Sprayed Griptape was initially sprayed by hand and distributed to the crew members. After the success of the video, Shane asked his friends Andrew Reynolds, Erik Ellington and Jim Greco to help him distribute Shake Junt through their Baker Boys distribution. The boys knew each other from their past together on Warner Ave. Mob in Huntington Beach and so the Baker Boys were into it immediately and Shake Junt became a real company.
The name Shake Junt is inspired by a rap song of the same name and a club that the crew frequented.
Over the years, Shake Junt has produced a number of skateboarding videos in the distinctive SJ style.
Meanwhile, Shake Junt produces grip tape, hardware, bearings, riser pads, decks, as well as t-shirts, hoodies, caps, hats and much more.
