Powell Peralta Dragons Skateboard Wheels

Powell Peralta seems to have reinvented the skateboard wheel once again. George Powell, who was already significantly involved in the further development of the urethane wheel in the 1970s and who changed the market once again in recent skateboard history with the creation of the Bones STF Wheels, makes people sit up and take notice with his latest invention. With a hardness of only 93A, the Powell Peralta Dragons promise just as good slide behavior as hard wheels. All this with a softer ride with more speed. Is that possible? We tested the wheels:

The wheels are actually super fast due to their high rebound and thanks to the softer compound you glide over uneven ground similar to a cruiser wheel. The soft urethane also makes the wheel very quiet. In terms of slide behavior, the wheels slide surprisingly well on rough surfaces. On smooth ground they slide fairly well and controlled for your 93A, but not comparable to Bones STF or Spitfire Formula Four Wheels.

Our conclusion: The Dragons are ideal for anyone who often rides on bad asphalt or is looking for an all-round set-up that is also suitable for cruising or filming. Personally, the Dragons don't slide enough for regular street skating, and I prefer the louder, harder feel of traditional wheels. That's my subjective opinion though, it's best to try it yourself!
