After leaving Girl Skateboards and a brief gig with 3D, Alex Olson took matters into his own hands and founded 917 Skateboards. Olson is well connected to the fashion industry and in addition to 917 also has a respected fashion label called Bianca Chandon. However, the New York native by choice has never lost his passion for skateboarding, which is why founding 917 was a logical step. The name comes from the answering machine number of Bianca Chandon's former company phone.
Call Me 917, was a huge success from the start, thanks to the New York vibe and a team full of newcomers. Unfortunately, disagreements within the team caused most of the team riders to leave, which is why 917 is currently restructuring. Nevertheless, there are new, stylish collections with creative graphics and a small but fine clothing line.
