As a related company to Alien Workshop, Habitat Skateboards' style has significantly influenced a whole generation of skateboarders. The brand was first introduced in the legendary Alien Workshop video Photosynthesis (2000). An incredible team, ingenious artwork and the refreshing East Coast vibe were the recipe for success that quickly made Habitat Skateboards one of the most popular brands in skateboarding. Founder Joe Castrucci was responsible for the graphics from the beginning, creating unique aesthetics and image. However, after the initial success, difficult times were ahead for Habitat Skateboards and Alien Workshop. After the shut down of DNA Distribution, which united Alien Workshop and Habitat under one roof, Habitat switched to Tum Yeto Distribution. However, this connection didn't last and it's only thanks to Joe Castrucci's incredible commitment and trust in the brand that Habitat still exists. Most of the team riders proved loyalty and remained faithful to Habitat. Today, Habitat Skateboards has a new distributor in Official, headquartered in Ohio.
After the video debut in Photosynthesis, the team filmed for the first Habitat Full Lenght project with the sonorous name Mosaic, which is still one of the classics among skate videos. In addition to the entire Habitat lineup, there were also some parts by Alien Workshop riders, which highlighted the cohesion between the two brands. In the following years, Inhabitants and Search the Horizon followed, along with many smaller projects that perfectly embodied the brand's aesthetic. The Habitat team, with Mark Suciu, Brian Delatorre, Marius Syvanen or Silas Baxter-Neal, is one of the best and most creative that has always remained loyal to Habitat despite other lucrative offers.
Habitat skateboard decks are of high quality and made by PS Stix. The brand's artwork is still in classic Habitat style. In addition to skateboard decks and complete skateboards, there is always a small but fine clothing line, as well as various accessories.
