Hockey Skateboards is the sub-company of Fucking Awesome and represents rough street skating without any compromise. Jason Dill and Anthony van Engelen are the main people behind the creation of Hockey. Thanks to their innovative vision of a modern skate brand, Hockey quickly secured itself a place in the hearts of the skate community and is currently one of the most popular board brands around. The graphics are a bit darker than the ones of Fucking Awesome and give the brand a somewhat heavier image. The recurring Face Mask graphic has already become a real classic.
In addition to the graphic implementation, Hockey is also taking a new approach when it comes to board shapes. A slightly wider as well as rounder nose and tail are the distinguishing features of all Hockey and FA decks. Through the very specific shape, the two brands were able to build their very own loyal fan base.
The Hockey videos are uniquely made, mainly focusing on New York spots. Most of the time, classic parts are avoided and the whole session is shown on one spot. The team around John Fitzgerald, Donovon Piscopo, Ben Kadow and Andrew Allen is obviously in no way innocent for the lasting success of the young brand.
